Tottenham urged to sign Gareth Bale and use him in same way as Cristiano Ronaldo
Graham Roberts has urged Tottenham Hotspur to complete a move to sign Gareth Bale and use the Real Madrid superstar in the same way that Juventus have been using Cristiano Ronaldo since the Portuguese man moved to Italy.
Bale, 31, has been strongly linked with a return to Tottenham by numerous outlets over the past 24 hours. It is believed he could rejoin Spurs, seven years after leaving the north London club, initially on loan with Real subsidising his wages.
It remains to be seen that – if he does return to Spurs – whether he can replicate the kind of magic he produced on a regular basis during the 2012-13 season before his move to Real. Indeed, it may take some time for Bale to get back to his best.
But Spurs legend Roberts has identified a way in which Tottenham can get the best out of the 83-time Wales international – and that is by using the four-time Champions League winner in the same way in which Juventus have used Ronaldo.
And we have very good options if sings he can play right down middle when Harry not or either side. Superb in air and superb shot so makes total sense to me to use him how Juve and Madrid used ronaldo at times.

TBR’s view – How can Tottenham use Bale?
Juventus have got the best out of Ronaldo by using him as a striker, combining him up top with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala. Whether Jose Mourinho will combine Bale as a striker with Harry Kane remains to be seen.
But given he is somewhat younger than Ronaldo at just 31, the Welshman is still more than capable of playing out wide. He still has plenty of pace and the ability to get past a full-back, but now has the added experience and quality to play centrally.
As a number 10 in a 4-2-3-1 system with Lucas and Son either side and Kane up front, or out wide in a front three – Bale would be a stunning addition for Tottenham.
