Tottenham transfer news: Brighton boss discusses Trossard amid Spurs links
Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Leandro Trossard in recent days.
Earlier this week, the reported that Spurs have accelerated their interest in signing the Brighton forward.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook claimed both Spurs and Arsenal were eyeing Trossard.

He reported that Tottenham’s interest is “genuine”, while the Gunners are “also monitoring developments”.
Amid speculation over his future, Trossard appears to have fallen out with new Seagulls manager Roberto De Zerbi.
The Belgium international’s form has tailed off since returning from the World Cup.
He is yet to make an appearance for Brighton since the start of the year.
‘I only want players who work hard’
Things have taken a turn for the worse in recent days, with De Zerbi making his stance clear on Trossard.
The manager also revealed how the player left a training session after finding out he wasn’t going to play against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.
“Every player is good and we are ready to play,” De Zerbi said on .
“Leandro isn’t in the list of players for tomorrow. Leandro knows very well my opinion.
“The last training before the Middlesbrough game when he understood he didn’t play, he left the session without saying anything and that is not good.
“On Monday [after the game] I spoke to him and I explained I don’t like this attitude and behaviour.
“He knows very well if he wants to play for Brighton he has to work very hard, run, and be in the right way.
“We are not a big team like Barcelona or Real Madrid. We are Brighton and we need others who work like the others.
“I don’t know what is the problem. I’m open with him, I’m open to take a step back.

“He has to understand I only want players who work hard and play 100% for the team.
“I don’t know if he wants to change teams or not, it is not my problem. I’m not thinking about the transfer market or other teams.
“I don’t decide anything but I have decided on the first XI [for Liverpool]. Leo knows very well what is my opinion and what I want.
“There is no problem. We are working to grow up and progress this team and I want only players who put 100% in.”
Trossard agent posts follow-up
Later on in the day, Trossard’s agent Josy Comhair put out a statement in response to De Zerbi’s comments, as transcribed by .
It read: “Before Leandro left for Qatar, it was Brighton’s intention to extend his contract, this did not happen as parties did not reach an agreement. Leandro has also indicated he is ready for his next step.
“After the World Cup there was an altercation at training between Leandro and another player over an inanity. Since then, the trainer has not spoken to Leandro, which is obviously not conducive to the atmosphere, as well as performance-wise.
“Leandro still was a first-eleven player against Southampton and Arsenal but against Everton he was on the bench. In the five substitutions that took place then, he was also not among them and this is without any explanation.

“In the run-up to the match against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, Leandro had already reported calf problems twice. This was the reason he stopped training. This was in consultation with the medical staff.
“Through the physical trainer, Leandro learned that he had to train separately. Last Monday the trainer then grounded Leandro in the group and indicated that he did not want to see him anymore. A trainer who has not communicated directly with his player for four weeks is truly incomprehensible.
“It is also the trainer who has indicated several times that a transfer is the most reasonable solution.
“It is therefore important that Brighton cooperates with a potential transfer, which is beneficial for both parties”
What will Spurs make of De Zerbi comments? TBR View
Although Trossard is an ‘unreal‘, ‘magnificent‘ player, Tottenham fans will no doubt be concerned over developments at Brighton in recent days.
He went from one of the first names on the team sheet to out of the matchday squad, and his manager has publicly revealed why he has dropped him.
Then, the agent bombshell later on in the day, an escalation of this dirty laundry being aired in public.
On one hand, it means Trossard will likely be available as Brighton look to offload him. On the other, could clubs be put off by what’s happened?
