Tottenham told to hire Graham Potter, as it would tempt Brighton duo to join Spurs
that Tottenham Hotspur need to consider a move to hire Brighton manager Graham Potter as he prefers an English boss at the helm – but that it could also tempt two Brighton stars with a move to Spurs.
Potter has excelled in the Brighton hotseat. With little backing compared to his rivals, Potter has guided Brighton to Premier League safety and there are signs of improvement – with the Seagulls sitting in 14th place in the top tier of English football.
Brighton’s style under Potter has earned the ex-Swansea City manager plenty of plaudits, and he is being strongly linked with a move to North London as Jose Mourinho’s replacement. Ex-Spurs striker Stewart thinks his old club need to after Potter.
He believes Jose Mourinho’s replacement needs to be an English gaffer and 45-year-old Potter is the ideal man for the job – but also because it might tempt Brighton captain Lewis Dunk and midfielder Yves Bissouma into a transfer to Tottenham.
“I would like to bring a young English manager in,” . “That may be Graham Potter, give him the time to rebuild. No disrespect to Brighton, I look at Dunk and Bissouma and think if Potter came, they would also be attracted.”

TBR’s view – Dunk and Bissouma would really strengthen Tottenham
Ask any Tottenham fan and with Harry Kane still on the books, their biggest transfer needs will be a central defender and a midfielder that can be Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s long-term replacement. Dunk and Bissouma would be absolutely ideal.
While Dunk is 30 in November, his leadership, aerial prowess and aura is just what Spurs need in central defence. Bissouma is one of the hottest properties this summer and he would galvanise Tottenham in midfield.
If Potter means captain Dunk and £40million-rated () Bissouma might be tempted by Spurs, then it is a no-brainer to appoint the Seagulls boss.
