Tottenham told they now have ‘maverick’ who is similar to Phil Foden
Jamie O’Hara has likened a Tottenham player to Manchester City superstar and England international Phil Foden.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is regarded as one of the best players in the world and someone the English media are quick to use when comparing players, with Liverpool target Florian Wirtz likened to Foden already this summer.
Although the City star failed to impress at Euro 2024, Foden is still viewed b♋y many as a world-🌃class player, with the Stockport-born superstar playing an influential role last season in Pep Guardiola winning a fourth Premier League title in a row.
And former Tottenham star O’Hara has now suggesꦇted that Spurs have a player 🎐similar to Foden.

Tottenham’s James Maddison compared to ‘maverick’ Foden
Speaking on , the pundit made the interesting suggestion that James Maddison is in the same category of player as Foden, with the Tottenham star set for a big season after a mixed 🐻first year in north London.
With Maddison reacting badly♓ to being dropped from Eng🗹land’s Euro 2024 squad, ಞthe former Leicester City star will want to show his credentials in the new season with Tottenham, and being compared to Fod🌟en will certainly help.
O’Hara sa▨id about the lack of maverick no. 10s in world football: “The maverick was always a player ꦏthat wasn’t necessarily the player that ran around the most but was the player that could win the game for you.
“I just don’t know if that pl💫ayer exists anymore because you can’t not run around. You have to press and you have to run and you have to defend. You would say Phil Foden is a bit of a maverick still. Maddison is probably one of the 10s that you would say he is that guy, but there ain’t many.”

Maddison will want to take his game to new levels with Spurs
Maddison’s debut year at Tottenham was one that can be defined into two chapters, pre-injury and post-injury, where꧟ the 27-year-old really struggled to regain his form having been out for months on the treatment table.
Yet having featured heavily in pre-season with Ange Postecog⛎lou praising Maddison on Tottenham’s summer tour, things are looking up for the England international, who will want to impr🔴ess big time in the new campaign.
Indeed, Ma💎ddison knows he has the quality to take Tottenham to top-four an🅠d even silverware if he can stay fit, and the former Leicester star will want to prove just that, especially after being compared to Foden.
