Tottenham told they could sign ‘unplayable’ forward if they lodge £50m bid this summer

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer window has got off to a steady start to say the very least with Ange Postecoglou surely having hoped for more arrivals by now.

It has been a similar story for many sides across the Premier League with last season’s top three yet to see any new faces through the doors.

Spurs have been able to sign Archie Gray this summer but he is the only permanent signing made in north London.

Timo Werner has, of course, been brought back for another season following his short-term loan stint at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Lilywhites are now a full week into pre-season training and the squad does not look a great deal different to how it ended the campaign barring a few departures.

But Spurs have now been informed of how much they will have to part with this summer if they want to land one of their top targets.

Tottenham told of £50m+ asking price for exciting summer target

Bringing in attacking reinforcements could be crucial for the Lilywhites this summer given how their attack ended the campaign.

Putting the 3-0 victory over Sheffield United to one side, Spurs were only able to score seven goals in their previous six games.

There was something missing from the Tottenham attack in their first season without Harry Kane leading the line.

And Postecoglou will surely be hoping to see his options improved ahead of the upcoming campaign.

According to , Rennes are looking for an offer in excess of €60m (£50m) this summer for Desire Doue.

This comes after Bayern Munich opened the summer race for Doue on Friday with a bid worth in the region of €35m (£29.5m).

A number of other sides are said to be in the race for the 19-year-old this summer with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal also credited with an interest in the French report.

But Tottenham are also there with the north London side having identified Doue as one of their targets for the coming weeks.

Tottenham could repeat Radu Dragusin coup

With Bayern showing a real interest in Doue this summer, Spurs could repeat their coup of Radu Dragusin from earlier in the year.

Spurs were able to sign Dragusin under the noses of Bayern with the German giants keen to land the Romanian centre-back.

And what a signing it would be if they were able to beat the serious competition for Doue this summer.

The youngster’s Rennes teammate Baptiste Santamaria recently told just how good Doue is destined to become.

“He’s one of a kind: he likes to hit the ball but he’s solid on his feet. Desire’s technical, percussive and physical qualities are quite incredible,” he said.

“When he becomes more consistent, he’ll be unplayable. For his age, he’s the most gifted youngster I’ve seen in my career.”
