Tottenham think they can get Bryan Mbeumo
According to Delaney, Tottenham now believe they have a good chance of signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Having just hired Thomas Frank, Spurs believe the attacker could be tempted to move to north London to reunite with his old boss.
Manchester United were closing in on Mbeumo at one point, but now, Spurs believe they have a real shot at getting this deal done.
“Manchester United have been looking at Emiliano Martinez, but they would only move for a goalkeeper once a lot of other positions have been sorted first. The club do feel in a better direction, as there looks set to be considerable movement on sales. They have just found more competition for main targets. Tottenham’s hiring of Thomas Frank now means they feel they have a good chance of Bryan Mbeumo given the Brentford connection,” Delaney wrote.
What Thomas Frank has said about Bryan Mbeumo
It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why Spurs are so keen on Mbeumo.
This young man is a top talent, and Thomas Frank knows he can trust Mbeumo to play in his system.
Indeed, Mbeumo has grown massively as a player under Frank, and speaking to the last season, Frank even called Mbeumo ‘unplayable’.
“Yeah, they are amazing, Wissa the way he links up and how he can run behind. Bryan Mbeumo, today he was unplayable, his goal was fantastic, look at his workrate, that is unbelievable. His assist at the end to Kevin Schade, very impressed by him,” Frank said.
You often see players re-signing for their former managers and this could be another example of such a deal.
