Tottenham target de Vrij now valued at just £17m by Inter
The signing of Stefan de Vrij has apparently been personally requested by Tottenham manager Antonio Conte.
Inter Live earlier this month that the Dutchman’s signing is a ‘request from Conte’.
They also claimed that Spurs would offer De Vrij a four-year deal worth €6.5 million (£5.4 million) per season to join them.

A fresh report from claims that de Vrij’s asking price has been cut to €20 million (£16.7 million) ahead of the summer transfer window.
Tottenham’s defence still needs improving and that looks an affordable price for Conte to get a player he is personally invested in signing.
Conte is a win-now manager; Tottenham have to give him the funds to sign players he wants or his reign is not going to work out.

That will have a knock on effect on the message it sends out to some of the better players at the club over whether they are going to make a real fist of next season.
He is 30, so it is not one for the future, but Conte probably isn’t going to be around long-term to build the club up anyway.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs can get Conte his man during what is going to be an important summer for him and the club.
