Tottenham supporters club ‘dismayed’ by what the club have done today

The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust have expressed bemusement at what Spurs did earlier today.

The THST made their feelings crystal clear on X (previously known as Twitter).

So, what have Spurs done to upset the THST? Let’s take a look…

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust left furious after club decision

Well, Tottenham have decided to increase season ticket prices by 6% ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Spurs have also reduced the discount for senior season tickets by 5% each season for the next five years, which means older fans will be paying 25% more for their ticket from the 2029/20 campaign.

Understandably – given the fact we are currently in a cost of living crisis – the THST are furious about this development.

In an official statement, the THST how Spurs responded when concerns about the 6% increase in season ticket prices were brought to the club’s attention.

Tottenham said this was down to the fact prices have only been raised once – by 1.5% – in the last five years.

Spurs also stated that “there has been a significant increase in matchday costs” when attempting to justify why season ticket prices have increased.

From our point of view, that is quite naive from Tottenham.

Tottenham must have a rethink

Have the north Londoners not considered the fact there has also been a significant increase in the expenditures of supporters, regarding matters such as energy bills, to provide just one example?

A Premier League giant of Tottenham’s stature is better equipped to deal with an increase in matchday costs than the average fan is when it comes to the cost of living crisis, so it is a shame to see Spurs dig even deeper into the pockets of supporters to boost finances.

Hopefully, this decision will be revised.

In a world where Tottenham can afford to pay Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg a salary of , a 6% increase in season ticket prices is nothing more than a mockery.
