Tottenham still seen as having an outside chance of signing ‘world class’ striker even after Dominic Solanke’s arrival
Tottenham Hotspur finally have their new striker through the door after signing Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.
12 months on from selling Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, Tottenham finally have their new number nine.
Solanke arrives off the back of the best season of his career, and he will be hoping to continue the good form he showed at Bournemouth at Spurs.
However, that may not be the end of Tottenham’s striker recruitment just yet.

Tottenham have an outside chance of signing Ivan Toney
, Tottenham are still viewed as having an outside chance of signing Ivan Toney this summer.
The ‘’ England striker has been touted on the market for a long while now.
Tottenham have been linked with Toney throughout the summer, but it would’ve been fair to assume that Spurs’ interest in Toney would’ve ended with the signing of Solanke.
However, according to this report, Tottenham could still end up moving for Toney, but there is reason to believe this deal probably won’t go ahead.
Ivan Toney to Tottenham would be overkill
Tottenham still have an outside chance of signing Ivan Toney this summer, but you’d have to categorise this signing as being unlikely.
Indeed, if there’s one thing Tottenham don’t really need right now, it’s a new striker.
Spurs already have Solanke and Richarlison, while both Heung-Min Son and Timo Werner can also be utilised as centre-forwards if needed.
Adding Toney to that mix would just be too much, and given that Toney will want first-team football wherever he goes next, it’s hard to imagine that he’d be keen to join Spurs and battle with that much attacking talent.
Interestingly, Simon Jordan believes Toney would be a better signing than Solanke.
Tottenham do still have a very small chance of getting Toney this summer, but it would be a real shock if the Brentford striker did end up at Spurs, especially after the signing of Solanke.
