Tottenham still interested in signing ‘special’ winger who Martin Odegaard really rates

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly remain interested in signing Club Brugge starlet Antonio Nusa, despite missing out on the winger in January.

Tottenham were widely viewed as the frontrunners for the signing of Antonio Nusa last month before Brentford launched a late attempt to sign the youngster.

The 18-year-old ultimately opted for a move to the Gtech Community Stadium due to a guarantee of regular playing time. 

But Nusa’s move to west London fell through after .

Ange Postecoglou’s men are still expected to target a new forward player this summer, despite Timo Werner’s arrival last month. 

And according to , Nusa remains on their radar, despite his failed move to Brentford.

Tottenham still keen on Nusa

The outlet claims that Spurs have maintained their interest in the Norwegian winger, after missing out in January.

Indeed, Football.London also spoke to Stian Andre de Wahl, from Norwegian media outlet Nettavisen, who back up the outlet’s claim.

“Tottenham is definitely one of the clubs showing interest,” they said. “It’s difficult to say right now if they will try seriously to get him, but as we can see with Tottenham’s strategy to invest in big young talents it wouldn’t be a surprise if they try.”

Nusa has been lauded as a ‘’ talent and it’s no real surprise to see Spurs continuing to monitor his situation.

The youngster has already earned four caps for Norway after impressing in the Jupiler Pro League with Brugge.

He’s also earned high praise from his compatriot and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard this season, who hailed him as an ‘incredibly exciting’ young player.

Whether or not Spurs firm up their interest in Nusa once again remains to be seen.

They will undoubtedly have concerns over his failed medical at Brentford, particularly after their struggles with injuries during Postecoglou’s debut season.
