Tottenham star Sissoko and Chelsea ace Barkley send Instagram messages to Everton man
Morgan Schneiderlin has posted an injury update on Instagram after suffering a knee injury against Arsenal back in February – and both Chelsea ace Ross Barkley and Tottenham star Moussa Sissoko have responded.
Schneiderlin, 30, was taken off just before the hour mark during the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at The Emirates. It was awful timing for the 15-time France international, who had just begun to work his way back into Everton’s starting line-up.
The injury forced him to go under the knife and the former Manchester United and Southampton star has had to be patient to even be able to make a return to training, not least due to the injury, but also because of the current global health crisis.
However, the midfielder posted an encouraging update on Instagram by uploading a video of himself doing a home workout – and posted a caption stating after six weeks of being on crutches, he is back and able to work out.
Everton have a number of central midfielders but it is likely to be an area that Carlo Ancelotti targets in the summer. Fabian Delph has struggled since his arrival, while Jean-Philippe Gbamin has been injured for much of the campaign.
Other options include Andre Gomes and Tom Davies, while Schneiderlin is set to enter the final 12 months of his Toffees contract and could be sold this summer. Former Everton teammate Barkley wished him well.
Meanwhile, France teammate Sissoko also posted – with his comment being translated as: “Force my brother”.
