Hugo Lloris held aloft the Nations League trophy for France on Sunday night after a 2-1 win over Spain –
Lloris, 34, came into the match somewhat under-fire after a couple of mistakes in the semi-final against Belgium. France somehow won 3-2.
Despite a miraculous saves to keep out Kevin De Bruyne, Lloris then allowed Yannick Carrasco and Romelu Lukaku to score at the near post.

Spain took the lead. Mikel Oyarzabal left Lloris with no chance, blasting a left-footed effort into the far corner. Karim Benzema equalised.
A gorgeous effort from the Real Madrid superstar levelled the final, before Kylian Mbappe finished beautifully to put France 2-1 ahead.
It was in the final moments where Lloris sparkled. Firstly, a brilliant stop to deny Oyarzabal’s volley – before palming away Yeremi Pino’s shot away.

Lloris is out of contract at the end of the season – which will see him clock up a decade at Spurs. But judging by Sunday, he needs a new deal.
Pierluigi Gollini looks as though he is at home in London, but is he good as Lloris? Perhaps, another 12 months at Spurs should be considered.
At least, on Sunday’s showing, Paratici and Tottenham would be wrong not to hand £12million () signing Lloris a new deal.
