Tottenham staff used to think £6m player was a better finisher than Harry Kane
Tottenham have soldTroy Parrott to AZ Alkmaar.
The Irish international is leaving Spurs in a deal , and it’s a real shame to see the striker going.
At one point, Parrott was seen as the hottest property in the Tottenham academy. The striker was said to have huge potential as a teenager, but, sadly, he didn’t quite realise that promise during his time in north London.
Speaking on the , Alasdair Gold has been reminiscing about Parrott’s time at Tottenham, and he shared some interesting insight.
Indeed, according to Gold, staff at Tottenham used to say that Parrott was the best finisher at the club, even ahead of Harry Kane.

Troy Parrott was the best finisher at Tottenham
Gold shared what Spurs staff used to say about Parrott.
“I would have loved to have seen him come through at Spurs. There were people, when he was a youngster at the club, I had quite a few people tell me that he was maybe the best finisher at the club. That was over Harry Kane, that was during Harry Kane’s time. He was just so good at finding the corner again and again,” Gold said.
Troy Parrott still has time
Troy Parrott may not have made it at Tottenham, but don’t be surprised if he still ends up becoming a bit of a star in the game of football.
That sort of finishing ability isn’t to be sniffed at, and he had a fantastic loan spell in the Netherlands last season.
Parrott has the potential to be a star striker at a high level, and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if this wasn’t the last we saw of the Irishman at Premier League level.
Don’t be shocked if Parrott does eventually realise his great potential.
