Tottenham may be tempted to sell Son Heung-Min amid Bayern Munich interest
Tottenham may be facing a difficult decision when it comes to the future of Son Heung-Min. report that Bayern Munich are interested in the South Korean international. This interest comes just weeks after the forward won the Asia Games to ensure he would be exempt from national service.
This would be an unpopular move among Tottenham supporters as the forward has become a firm fan’s favourite during his time in North London. Son has 28 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League since joining the club. His goal involvement stood at one every 124.75 minutes before the start of the current season.
There is no doubting that Son has emerged as a valuable player since arriving in England. He is considered Tottenham’s main goal threat after Harry Kane and often fills in for the England captain when he is injured.

However, at the age of 26, Son will be looking for regular minutes and they may not be forthcoming at Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino is already having problems fitting Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Kane into the same team. It is unlikely that the South Korean will be able to start matches alongside those four players.
It is possible that Son could be full of confidence after his international success and force his way into the Tottenham team. Alternatively, Pochettino may consider him a good impact player from the bench. If that is the role that he is given, it may not be enough to keep him happy, especially if the rumoured Bayern Munich interest is correct.
Son has already enjoyed success in the Bundesliga and would be considered a good signing by Bayern Munich. The German giants need to add younger legs to their forward options and the Tottenham attacker fits the bill.

Tottenham won’t be willing sellers, as Son is a popular figure at the club and Pochettino is a big fan of the 26-year-old. That said, Daniel Levy has always been open to selling his stars for the right price and the South Korean international may be considered expendable due to the other options at the club. The form of Lucas Moura, especially, has pushed Son down the pecking order.
The next few months will be interesting when it comes to Son. If he gets a lot of game-time, his long-term future is likely with Tottenham. If he doesn’t, a host of top European clubs including Bayern Munich will come calling.
