Tottenham should offer Juan Foyth in straight swap for Inter star, after agent comments

Juan Foyth is reportedly set to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the coming months after managing just one Premier League start under the guidance of Jose Mourinho – and Spurs should take advantage of his agent’s latest comments.

Foyth, 22, joined Spurs during Mauricio Pochettino’s era but has only played 32 times in all competitions since his move in 2017. Under Mourinho, he has only started in the league against Norwich – and was hooked at half time.

An Argentina international, Foyth will be looking to leave this summer. that his exit is ‘practically a fact’, with Barcelona and Leeds United touted as possible options ahead of the summer window.

Foyth’s agent has now thrown fuel on the fire. Claudio Curti stated that while Inter are not currently interested – his client would seriously consider a move to Antonio Conte’s side. Inter rivalled Spurs in 2017 for Foyth.

Yes, Inter looked at him before he signed for Tottenham [in 2017],” “Currently, Inter are not interested. If there is any interest in the future, we will listen. Juan can play at a club as big as Inter. He has the personality, technical qualities.”

Tottenham have got to take advantage. Spanish newspaper have claimed that Spurs are interested in luring 34-year-old Diego Godin to north London, with Jose Mourinho looking to sign the Uruguayan at Manchester United.

Spurs have options at centre-back, but need to replace Foyth and Jan Vertonghen and Godin is seemingly a target. Despite his age, he still has three years on his contract at Inter, though – and would require a transfer fee to be replaced.

But surely Foyth’s agent comments could be used to Spurs’ advantage – by offering Foyth in return for Godin this summer? It is seemingly a move that would suit all parties, especially given that Foyth is open to joining Conte’s side.
