Tottenham should hold fire with target Nick Pope
Tottenham are reportedly eyeing Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, but should not jump the gun when it comes to chasing his signature.
, Spurs are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old and he is in their sights ahead of a potential swoop next summer.
The North London club currently have Hugo Lloris as their number one option in goal, while Paulo Gazzaniga has shown enough quality to prove he can replace number two Michel Vorm in the summer when his contract expires.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are believed to be big admires of the Burnley shot-stopper and the fact that he’s a homegrown player makes the temptation to sign him even more.
But there is no guarantee he will win his spot back at Turf Moor this season when he returns from a shoulder injury and has to dislodge teammate Joe Hart first.

Pope, who is a 6ft 3in international colossus that went to the World Cup with England, still has a lot to prove at the top flight.
He has made just 35 appearances in the Premier League in his career and has spent a lot of times in the lower divisions.
Pope’s impressive season last year shouldn’t be enough to put him in the frame for a role at Spurs and they should be cautious to see how he performs this year before trying to sign him.
There is also a strong belief by supporters that third-choice Gazzaniga deserves more opportunities and signing Pope could impact that.
