Tottenham should consider move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster

Tottenham are reportedly set to bid farewell to third-choice goalkeeper Michel Vorm this summer following the expiry of his contract.

, the 35-year-old veteran will be available on a free transfer and depart Spurs.

The report details that the North London club may target an Englishman to fill the void as the third-choice option in net, as it would help with their homegrown quota.

If Spurs are on the search for an English shot-stopper, they should turn their eyes to Southampton colossus Fraser Forster.

, the 31-year-old could be axed from St Mary’s this summer by manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The 6ft 7in giant only played once in the Saints first-team this campaign, but has previously shown his class at the top level.

Forster has 45 clean sheets in 125 games for Southampton and was previously a brick wall at Scottish giants Celtic.

The six-time capped England international has looked a force in the Premier League during the past and needs a fresh move to get back on track.

He cost Southampton £10million () back in 2014 and surely he would be available at less now.

Forster would tick the box for Spurs as an English goalkeeper and he would be healthy competition for Hugo Lloris and Paulo Gazzaniga next season.
