Tottenham should consider joining Kamara race this summer

Tottenham Hotspur should consider joining the race to sign Marseille starlet Boubacar Kamara this summer.

, AC Milan have now joined Arsenal and Chelsea in monitoring the French teenager, who has burst onto the scene this season.

Kamara made his first-team debut last term for Les Olympiens, but 2018/19 has been his breakout year.

Kamara has made 25 appearances in total and scored one goal. Across those games, he has registered an impressive average pass completion rate of 88% ().

There’s a good chance he will become coveted this summer due to the speed of his rise for Marseille, and Tottenham should ensure that they are part of the conversation with Toby Alderweireld’s future in much doubt.

The ‘next Thiago Silva’

Spurs should think about moving for Kamara, who can play as a central defender or holding midfielder.

The 19-year-old is a brilliant passer of the ball, something Alderweireld is famed for.

If the Belgian leaves in the summer (he’ll be available for £25 million due to the extension he recently signed, ) then not only will Spurs lose a fine defender, but a playmaker from deep.

Kamara, who has been compared to Brazilian defender Thiago Silva by Marseille’s technical assistant Claude Fichaux in terms of ‘elegance’ and the ‘ability to create’, could be a shrewd replacement.

Calciomercato claim Milan scouts watch him regularly, so Tottenham may have their work cut in the summer.

But the lure of the new stadium and Tottenham’s style could be enough to see them beat the Italians to one very hot prospect.

Ominously, the player’s contract expires in the summer of 2020 which may make a deal possible.
