Tottenham should be all over Nicolas Tagliafico, as several clubs circle full-back

Nicolas Tagliafico is again being linked with a move away from Ajax – and Tottenham Hotspur must put themselves into contention.

The left-back enjoyed another fine campaign with Ajax before the Eredivisie was voided back in April, and it appears his name is set to do the rounds in the papers just like last summer.

, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are fighting it out for the Argentina international, while Manchester City have also been mentioned as a potential destination.

Tagliafico, with Ajax since 2018, is apparently valued at around €26 million/£24 million by the Dutch giants, and is under contract until 2022.

Spurs look set to be heading into 2020/21 with just one left-sided defender in Ben Davies, with Danny Rose recently conceding his days at the club are all but over ().

Jose Mourinho also admitted earlier in the season that Ryan Sessegnon isn’t ready to play at left-back (), with most of his appearances for the club coming as a winger.

TBR’s View – Another Ajax raid?

Spurs have, of course, done business with Ajax before with the signings of Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen.

There is a good relationship there, and perhaps it’s time for the north London giants to exercise another raid.

Tagliafico is a marauding full-back who has been able to flourish in Erik ten Hag’s attack-minded team.

Attacking returns of five goals and seven assists in all competitions is fairly impressive, and £24 million seems very reasonable in today’s market.
