Report: Tottenham had scouts watching ‘incredible’ player this weekend, but he only played three minutes

Tottenham Hotspur seem to be continuing with their pursuit of Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, and have sent scouts to watch him this weekend.

The impressive midfielder is said to be on the radar of Spurs, with reports just this week claiming that the club are confident of signing the Ghana international before the window is done with.

And adding fuel to that fire this weekend, reports from claim that Antonio Conte has even sent scouts to Amsterdam this weekend to watch Kudus. However, those scouts will have been disappointed, as Kudus played just three minutes in injury time as Ajax saw off Fortuna Sittard 3-2. Interestingly, it was former Spurs man Steven Bergwijn who Kudus came on for as well.

Dubbed an ‘‘ talent by Erik ten Hag, Kudus is highly-rated in Amsterdam and is expected to go on and have a fine career in Europe. But Tottenham are hoping they can take him of Ajax’s hands ASAP, and Antonio Conte is thought to be keen on signing Kudus for his squad.

Meanwhile, Spurs won their opening fixture of the season with ease as they hammered Southampton.

TBR’s View: Tottenham Clearly Still Want More Signings

Not content with spending more than £100m, it seems Tottenham want to sign even more new players and Kudus is at the top of that list.

In fairness to Kudus, he does seem to be a talented boy, despite his lack of minutes this weekend. And if Antonio Conte wants you, then you must be doing something right as well.

Tottenham have had a fine window and a fine start to life in the PL this season. But adding more quality is always something top clubs do, and Kudus is certainly someone who can be a fine addition to this Spurs side.
