Tottenham round-up: Skov watched; Etete interest after trial; Holtby admits frustration

Tottenham have joined West Ham, Watford and Wolves in scouting FC Copenhagen winger Robert Skov, according to . With 22 goals in 39 games in the Danish Superliga, it is easy to see why the London club has joined a list of potential suitors.

He could join Christian Eriksen in representing his country in Tottenham colours, though he lacks the international experience of his potential team-mate given that the winger was left out of the Danish World Cup squad having made the preliminatory 35 man selection.

Brace on trial

In further transfer news, 17-year-old Notts County forward Kion Etete has shone during a week long trial period with Tottenham, according to the . After a brace against West Ham for the club’s under 18s, the Premier League outfit are said to be interested in a permanent move.

That could see Etete join up with the club’s youth system on a permanent basis, despite having made his first team debut for the League Two club earlier this season under former Liverpool midfielder Harry Kewell before his dismissal.

Holtby admits his struggles

One man who did make that move as a youngster is former midfielder Lewis Holtby, who is now fighting for promotion from 2. Bundesliga in Germany with Hamburg. Now 28-years-old, he has reflected on his time at White Hart Lane.

“It was definitely frustrating though because I had good spells where I felt I deserved more game time. But I did expect more of myself, I had more expectations to succeed. I thought I had the quality but maybe I was a bit naïve. I made too many rash decisions,” Holtby told .

He made 42 appearances for the club between 2013 and 2015, though he spent most of the 2014/15 campaign on loan in Germany with current side Hamburg.
