Tottenham reportedly want ‘aggressive’ ace Pochettino branded a ‘complete player’

Tottenham have been reportedly offered the chance to sign PSG midfielder Gini Wijnaldum on loan, along with six over Premier League clubs – a player that Mauricio Pochettino recently branded the “complete player”.

Wijnaldum, 31, decided not to sign a new contract at Liverpool in the summer – after 237 appearances for the Reds. He won the Premier League title, and then the Champions League trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

But the grass is not always greener. At PSG, the 85-time Netherlands ace has only started 10 games since his move to the Ligue 1 giants. Under Pochettino, he is a rotation player, even an unused sub on two occasions.

that Tottenham are one of seven Premier League clubs interested in signing Wijnaldum, having been offered the ex-Liverpool man on loan. Arsenal, Villa, Everton, West Ham, Newcastle and Leicester, too.

Pochettino said, in July: His experience and quality make him a player who can help going forward and defensively. He can win the ball back and be aggressive, so I think he is a complete player.”

Pochettino on Wijnaldum: Dutch star massively improves Tottenham

Tottenham massively need a box-to-box midfielder. Harry Winks provides cover for both Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp in the middle of the park – but none are particularly effective going forward.

Hojbjerg has got the odd goal, but Winks and Skipp offer very little going forward. Wijnaldum would change that – offering work rate and defensive know how, he would also give Spurs another attacking dimenson.

A no-brainer, if possible.
