Tottenham pushing to sign 21-year-old talent that Sergio Aguero said is ‘spectacular’

Tottenham Hotspur will be in the market come the summer window and central midfield is likely to be an area that Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen – and certainly, bring in some more midfield depth.

Spurs will be in Europe next season – the only question being, which European competition. Currently in fifth, they are in the hunt for fourth. Fifth could mean Champions League football, but it is not a definite.

It depends on the coefficient and that is determined on how well English clubs do well in Europe during 2023-24. Liverpool’s Atalanta defeat could have an impact. Nevertheless, more depth is needed at Spurs.

Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma remain key players but Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg admitted he is not happy – with Juventus pushing to sign the Danish star. His deal ends in June 2025.

Tottenham pushing to sign Boca Juniors talent Cristian Medina

Oliver Skipp’s game time has reduced and he may be allowed to leave come the summer, maybe on loan. If so, Spurs will need some midfield additions in the summer. Perhaps, more than one, if Hojbjerg goes.

Well, Spurs seem to be working on it. Argentine outlet claim Tottenham are pushing to sign Boca Juniors wonderkid Cristian Medina. A player that has already played 138 times for Boca’s senior side.

Medina has been making waves in his home country, even overtaking a record set by Bentancur in terms of an academy player playing the most games for Boca in the last decade. Bentancur played 66 matches.

Winning the League title in 2022, Medina has been a key player for Boca in the last couple of years. But, and despite his contract at Boca lasting until 2027, the report says Boca are expected to see him depart.

What Sergio Aguero has said about Tottenham target Medina

, Manchester City icon Aguero raved about the up-and-coming Medina. Praise from such a player should not go lightly. He said: “Medina is a spectacular player. A lot of quality.”

So, Medina looks a real talent and would be a wonderful signing for Spurs – not just for the future, but for the now, too. It is unclear how much Boca will be requesting for their academy product in the summer.

say that Inter Milan are also interested in Medina and while the details of a release clause are not reported, it is believed that there is a clause within his Boca contract. Fingers crossed, for Spurs.
