Tottenham players were avoiding passing to £20m player against Fulham

Pierre-Emile Hoj♔bjerg returned to the Tottenham Hotspur line-up against Fulham and appeared to fit seamlessly into the side.

the 2-0 victory over their London ri😼vals on the View From The Lane Podcast, journalist James Maw was discu🅠ssing the midfielder’s performance.

Ange Postecoglou wasn’t completely convinced by his side’s performance at full-time on Monday𒐪.

James Maddison and Son Heung-min capitalised on two errors f🎐rom Fulham’s Calvin Bassey but the visitors did create some c💎hances.

However, he will be very pleased that his side picked up three points, especially with Yves Bissouma not in the side due to suspension.

The Malian international has been a revelation with one pundit suggesting he’s now worth £100m.

Defensively, Hojbjerg and Bissꦯouma are very similar, but it’s thei൩r ability in possession that sets them apart right now.

Speaking about the 28-year-old, : “Yeah, there were a couple of momen💮ts when you could see the centre-backs looking to play out and then reali💧se it was [Pierre-Emile] Hojberg and then kind of reshape and then play a slightly different pass.

“But yeah, he was incredibly good and I think it sends a kind of message to those other fringe players that you may not play a game for or start a game for hꦛowever many weeks but you will get an opportunity eventually and it is possibꩵle to play very well.”

Hojbjerg earned plenty of praise for his performance with James Maddison suggesting he was ‘absolutely outstanding’.

He still 76 of his 80 pass♋es agains🦄t Fulham, although they weren’t pressing the Dane with a huge amount of conviction.

Hojbjerg deputised well against Fulham but it would be a real shock if Bissouma didn’t imm💙ediately return to th♏e Tottenham side.

Postꦓeco꧒glou has a very settled side at the moment but will take comfort from his fringe players stepping up when required.

A trip to Crystal Palace is the next test they f⛎ace and an update has already been provided on the two players who were brought off due to injury on Monday.
