Tottenham player ratings vs QPR… How Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear performed as Spurs win again
Tottenham Hotspur’s second pre-season friendly saw the Lilywhites secure themselves another victory against Queens Park Rangers.
Ange Postecoglou‘s men only had to make the short trip across London to Loftus Road ahead of next week’s trip to Japan.
The first goal of the afternoon was scored by midfielder Yves Bissouma as Postecoglou fielded two different XIs once again.
And the tally was added to by young Dane Scarlett who scored in the latter stages of the game to seal the win for Spurs.
Here’s how all the Tottenham players got on…

First half XI
Brandon Austin – 8
Keeping a clean sheet during his shift against Hearts, Brandon Austin pulled off a stunning fingertip save from a long-ranged effort to prevent QPR from taking the lead.
Pedro Porro – 6
As was the case on Wednesday night, Pedro Porro lacked the end product when he worked his way into the final third.
Archie Gray – 7
Nothing spectacular from the 18-year-old but still worthy of a 7/10 after Archie Gray showed his composure at the back.
Oliver Skipp – 7
Solid at the back in what was a much tighter defensive display on the ball from the midfielder.
Oliver Skipp is being linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer but he is showing Postecoglou he is very much a reliable member of the squad.
Jamie Donley – 6
Definitely a player who grey into the half as Jamie Donley opened the game with some real sloppy passes.
It has to be remembered he is playing well out of position but not the most polished of displays.
Pape Matar Sarr – 7
A strong return to the team for Pape Matar Sarr who missed the game on Wednesday night through injury. He has provided himself a real strong position to build from this summer.
Yves Bissouma – 9
A simply stunning goal from Bissouma opened the scoring for Spurs at Loftus Road.
The Mali midfielder weaved in and out of the QPR defence before sitting the goalkeeper down and slotting into an empty net. Spurs fans will want to see more of that!
Lucas Bergvall – 6
After impressing on Wednesday night, Lucas Bergvall was given the nod from the start against QPR.
The Swede made a bright start to the game with some progressive passing, but he was withdraw just after 20 minutes with an injury concern.
Brennan Johnson – 5
Managed to put in two good crossed for his captain – who should have done better. But there was a lot of sloppy passing and crosses prior to Johnson finding his feet in the game.
Heung-min Son – 5
Missed yet another huge opportunity after having it put on a plate by Johnson. A really, really poor finish which Heung-min Son will be looking to improve ahead of the new season.
Timo Werner – 4
Largely ineffective in both defence and attack. Missed a golden opportunity to double the lead just before the break in typical Timo Werner fashion.
Substitutes
Dejan Kulusevski – 7
Having replace Bergvall, Kulusevski added an assist to his name after less than 15 minutes of action with a neat one-two with Bissouma.
Second half XI
Luca Gunter – 8
Made the saves he was required to make. A solid outing for the promising young goalkeeper who spent last season out on loan with Barnet.
Pulled off a brilliant save late on in the game to deny QPR an equaliser.
Djed Spence – 7
Another really strong showing from Djed Spence in a Spurs shirt. Was not able to provide a goal contribution on this occasion but his effort could not be faltered.
Emerson Royal – 8
The Brazilian’s display against Hearts could not have gone much worse but Emerson Royal put in a strong display back in London.
Emerson’s move to AC Milan may have collapsed but it did not stop him from holding up the Spurs defence with a brilliant block.
He looked like a man with a point to prove.
Ashley Phillips – 5
Fairly quiet but should have been at fault for what should’ve been an equalising goal from Lyndon Dykes.
George Abbott – 6
Was twisted and turned by one of the QPR players who put in a sensational cross which should have been converted.
However, he did make a good block late on in the game.
James Maddison – 6
Had a great opportunity to get his name on the scoresheet but was unable to beat the goalkeeper.
Postecoglou is still probably looking to see more out of James Maddison as a creative figure.
Alfie Devine – 6
Neat and tidy play from the young midfielder but was not exactly a standout.
Mikey Moore – 9
Had a huge opportunity to add to his tally in a Spurs shirt but forced a brilliant save from the QPR goalkeeper.
To be ultra-critical, perhaps Mikey Moore should have scored but it was positive to him even getting into those positions.
But he made up for that with a sensational outside-of-the-foot cross for the second goal.
Will Lankshear – 7
Showed more in 20 minutes than any other Spurs forward did during the first half. A real shame to see him withdrawn so quickly…
Manor Solomon – 7
After a really rusty display on his return against Hearts, Manor Solomon looked much brighter against the Championship outfit.
Substitutes
Alejo Veliz – 4
Alejo Veliz‘s display on Wednesday was cut short through a nose bleed and he arguably contributed even less against QPR.
Tyrese Hall – 6
Came on as a second half substitute for Kulusevski and kept it tidy in the middle on the back of a promising display on Wednesday.
Dane Scarlett – 7
Came on for the final 10 or so minutes and found the back of the net with his first touch of the ball.
It may be harsh, but it is hard to give him more than a seven having played less than 10 minutes but that is not his fault.
