Tottenham outcast Jack Clarke sends two-word Instagram dig in direction of Nuno, after Vitesse omission
Jack Clarke was left on the bench against Vitesse as Tottenham suffered a 1-0 UEL defeat –
Clarke, 20, has managed just four senior appearances for Tottenham since joining the club for £10m from Leeds, signing a £30k-a-week deal ().
The England Under-20 ace has since gone on loan back to Leeds, and then to QPR and Stoke. But the latter two loan spells saw him play just 21 games.
Back at Tottenham this season, Clarke played half of the 1-0 defeat to Pacos de Ferreira. But he has since to add to those minutes at senior level.
On Thursday, he was an unused substitute on the bench against Vitesse – his first senior involvement since the opening leg against Pacos in Portugal.
But he was not used, posting a two-word dig at Nuno after the match on his Instagram account. Clearly frustrated, he simply wrote “patiently waiting”.
Clarke dig at Nuno: January needed for Tottenham outcast
Back in 2019, Tottenham thought they were getting one of the most-exciting teenage talents from the Championship – after Clarke had starred for Leeds.
Goals and assists at the tender age of 18 under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa convinced Mauricio Pochettino to spend big on the winger.
Fast forward two years, and it could not really have gone worse for Clarke. Even at Under-23 level, the likes of Dilan Markanday are outshining him.
In January, Clarke needs to leave Tottenham and get game time – a better loan spell than beforehand. If not, a permanent move.
