Tottenham optimistic of getting £25m deal for ‘dominant’ player over the line

Tottenham Hotspur could potentially expect to spend £25-26million on the signing of Radu Dragusin.

This is according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, who also reckons there’s a “cautious optimism” that Spurs can get a deal over the line.

Tottenham have reportedly been in talks over Dragusin over the past few days after weeks of speculation linking them with the Genoa defender.

Fabrizio Romano‘s last update on the subject was on Wednesday morning, telling that Tottenham and Genoa had scheduled a new round of talks over Dragusin.

As things stand, there’s a difference in valuation between the two clubs. The new round of talks should go some way towards potentially reaching a compromise.

“They’re in talks with Genoa,” Sheth wrote on in an article that went out on Wednesday evening.

“There just seems to be a gap in valuation just now with Genoa valuing him at around £30m. Tottenham are thinking around £20m.

“But when you have a situation like that, if a deal can be done, it will normally be compromised around the middle at £25m to £26m mark.

“So I think there’s an optimism, a cautious optimism, that maybe Tottenham can get this deal over the line.”

Tottenham will fancy their chances of signing Radu Dragusin

Hopefully Spurs can wrap up a deal for Dragusin fairly quickly. They really could do with bolstering their defensive ranks after what they’ve been through this season.

When Tottenham have both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the starting XI, they’re formidable. However, they’ve both suffered from injuries, during which Spurs haven’t been as solid at the back.

Dragusin seems like a good shout for Tottenham. He’s very talented, proven at a high level, and at just 21 years of age, has his whole career ahead of him.

A few years ago, Jacek Kulig of  deemed Dragusin a “complete and dominant” centre-back. Since then, he has kicked on, and now his big career breakthrough awaits.

Let’s see whether it’ll be at Tottenham or elsewhere. Spurs will definitely fancy their chances of getting a deal for the Romania international over the line.
