Tottenham now told they have a young talent who is just as good as £128m star
Tottenham have now been told they have a young talent who is just as good as one of Europe’s best forwards.
Spurs have placed a real emphasis on recruiting some of the most precocious prospects around in recent times, with the likes of Pape Matar Sarr, Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven and Lucas Bergvall all signing up for the project in N17.
Another bright talent was signed by Tottenham back in August – one who has now been compared to a top, top player…
Tottenham told they have a talent on par with Julian Alvarez
Well, football agent Filippo Colasanto was asked by Milan News for the young talents he believes are the best to emerge from Argentina in recent times.
The Italian responded by naming Manchester City No.19 Julian Alvarez as one Argentine he would have signed with his eyes closed, also mentioning Alejo Veliz of Tottenham.
Colasanto : “With my eyes closed I would have taken Alejo Veliz who then ended up at Tottenham, just as two years ago I would have taken Julian Alvarez without thinking too much.”
Manchester City signed Alvarez from River Plate back in January 2022 for just .
The Argentina international is now valued at a whopping (£128m) by the CIES Football Observatory after winning the 2022 World Cup – and finishing seventh in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

Tottenham signed Veliz for a similar price, striking a agreement with Rosario Central back in August.
The 20-year-old has already scored a Premier League goal for Spurs, but was loaned to Sevilla in January to aid his development.
Spurs not happy with Alejo Veliz situation
This aforementioned loan to Sevilla is not currently going to plan.
A story from Spanish news outlet claims that Tottenham are furious with how Sevilla are treating the South American, having promised Spurs he would receive a good amount of playing time.
At the time of writing, Veliz has only played minutes of football in La Liga across three appearances.

Another Spanish news outlet in add that Victor Orta – Director of Football at Sevilla – is even being criticised for signing the Argentina U20 international on loan.
Veliz certainly has the potential to become another Alvarez – although his development is undoubtedly stagnating during this woeful loan spell at Sevilla.
