Tottenham now really want to sign ‘incredible’ £80m attacker this summer, destroyed Man City this season

Tottenham have now made Wolves No.7 Pedro Neto a primary target this summer – with Ange Postecoglou keen on signing a new forward.

That is according to the Evening Standard.

So, what is the latest on Pedro Neto and Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

Tottenham make Pedro Neto a primary target

Well – according to the – Spurs have identified Ebere Eze and the Portugal international as key targets.

However, with the Crystal Palace No.10 believed to be more likely to sign for Manchester City, Tottenham’s sights are primarily on Neto.

It is said that Postecoglou would like Daniel Levy to bring a major signing to N17 this summer as Spurs aim to build on a positive season under the Australian.

The 58-year-old is believed to be focused on signing a forward who can expand the pitch with his pace and cause havoc in wide areas.

Postecoglou is said to have wanted such a signing in January – although prices proved prohibitive – so a loan deal for Timo Werner was settled on.

Neto has enjoyed a fantastic campaign at Wolves, scoring goals while also providing 11 assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Ironically, the Wolves No.7’s best performance actually came in a match where he failed to register a goal or assist, as the Old Gold beat Manchester City 2-1 at Molineux back in September.

Neto ran nearly the length of the pitch to force an own goal from Ruben Dias, with his efforts ending Manchester City’s 100% start to the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

Tottenham might have to spend a new club record fee

Neto – who Micah Richards called “incredible” earlier this season – is obviously vitally important to Gary O’Neil, and that is reflected in his price tag at Molineux.

According to of The Athletic, Tottenham will have to spend £80m to lure the 23-year-old away from Wolves this summer.

If Spurs paid that amount for Neto, it would smash the club’s current transfer record, which stands at the spent on Tanguy Ndombele back in 2019.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Tottenham make Neto a primary target for this summer.
