Tottenham now offer £20m to sign defender on deadline day as Mathys Tel nears loan move
Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is fully ready to back Ange Postecoglou in the ongoing winter transfer window based on their business so far.
On the attacking front, Mathys Tel is undergoing his medical at Tottenham before his loan move until the end of the season is confirmed. While defensively, Postecoglou has already praised Kevin Danso’s signing on loan from RC Lens while Antonin Kinsky’s ball-playing ability has already benefited Tottenham as he has largely impressed in N17 as well.
Staying on the defensive side of things for Tottenham, they have now been linked with a move to sign Burnley centre-back Maxime Esteve.
Esteve, who signed for the Clarets in January on an initial loan deal last year has become a mainstay at Turf Moor. So much so that the the Frenchman — whose move was made permanent in May 2024 has made 30 out of 30 starts for Burnley in the Championship this season.

Tottenham offer £20 million to sign Maxime Esteve but Burnley demand £30 million
Esteve, 22 is still quite a young defender but is known for his astute reading of the game, calmness on the ball and high potential.

Tottenham might have to make Maxime Esteve as Radu Dragusin suffers ACL injury
Radu Dragusin is sidelined for the rest of the season but it has now been revealed that he has suffered a devastating ACL injury.
Journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke has confirmed the news about the Romanian centre-back.
With Burnley potentially knowing Dragusin has been ruled out for several months and Cristian Romero still being injured, they can name their price for Esteve.
Tottenham’s hands might be tied in this instance unless they feel Esteve is simply not worth the fee.
Spurs have a massive decision on their hands as how their defence performs in the second half of the season could determine whether their campaign ends on a high note.
