Tottenham now lining up £27m bid for ‘exceptional’ player with talks ongoing ahead of deadline day

Tottenham Hotspur have an extra couple of days to wait before getting their 2024/25 campaign up and running on Monday night.

Ange Postecoglou and his side will have to watch on until the final game of the first game week in the Premier League to travel to Leicester City.

Daniel Levy and Johan Lange have been busy men this summer with plenty of business sanctioned in north London.

Tottenham have seen 12 players now depart the club over a variety of different means this summer.

There have, of course, been some arrivals with Dominic Solanke marking the big money addition of the market in the Premier League.

And there could well be another new face arriving at Tottenham soon with the Lilywhites now plotting a bid for a new defender.

Tottenham plotting £27m bid for defender after talks have been held

Spurs have recently sold another defender with Emerson Royal leaving Tottenham for AC Milan over the last week.

Despite Djed Spence having impressed Ange Postecoglou over pre-season, it seems as if Spurs are looking to add another right-back this summer.

According to Bruno Andrade, Spurs are now plotting a move for one right-back who they have already held talks over.

A bid in the region of €32m (£27m) with fixed add-ons is now being prepared by Tottenham for Monaco’s Vanderson.

Talks are currently being held between the two sides for Vanderson who has also received interest from Manchester United.

Tottenham could land ‘exceptional’ player in Vanderson

If Tottenham are to sign Vanderson, it would raise serious questions as to what would lie ahead for Spence in the final weeks of the window.

Vanderson has been hailed as ‘exceptional‘ having racked up 84 appearances for Monaco where he has returned six goals and nine assists.

Adding a player of this quality would be huge for Tottenham who need strength in depth going into a much busier campaign given they have to contend with Europa League football.

With the opening bid reportedly being prepared, Vanderson is said to be aware of Tottenham’s interest and those around him are confident of a breakthrough.
