Tottenham now just one step away from selling ‘outstanding’ player who played v Bayern Munich today

Tottenham were beaten by Bayern Munich today and are now close to selling one of the players who featured for them in that game.

Spurs are looking to get moving in the next few weeks as they look to shift players on and bring new faces in.

So far, Ange Postecoglou has managed to move the likes of Ryan Sessegnon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg on to pastures new. But more exits are needed, especially if the squad is going to be strengthened.

Of course, getting clubs to pay up and come and take players off their hands, is another matter entirely.

Spurs want money in the bank for certain players and one of those who could bring a fee is Brazilian defender, Emerson Royal.

Royal has been linked with a move to AC Milan all summer but so far, nothing has quite been agreed.

But according to reports in Italy, that could be about to change.

AC Milan now close to signing Emerson Royal from Tottenham

According to – relaying information from Sky Italy – AC Milan are now closer than ever to doing a deal for Royal.

The report claims that it is now down to just the bonus aspect of the deal to get things signed off, as Milan work to get the total figure up somewhere close to the £16m mark.

For Tottenham, that figure still represents a loss given the £26m they paid for Royal themselves.

However, it is still income and can be used against further signings.

Despite being lauded for being ‘‘ by Ange Postecoglou, the Brazilian has never really been a first choice defender at the club.

Now with Archie Gray signed as well, Royal could find himself further down the pecking order.

A move to Milan, then, seems to make good business sense for everyone involved.
