Tottenham now expected to appoint Antonio Conte, according to Alasdair Gold
has now claimed that he understands Daniel Levy will appoint Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager. Following on from reports that emerged Conte was in talks with Spurs – Gold is now reporting that Conte is the man to get the job.
Conte, 51, left Inter Milan last month just days after winning the Serie A title. The Italian gaffer, who has also managed Chelsea, Italy and Juventus, stopped Juventus from winning a tenth consecutive title. Despite this, the fiery manager chose to leave Nerazzuri – a return to London is incoming.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday afternoon that talks were ongoing for Conte. Now, Spurs reporter Gold claims on Football London’s website that Conte is ‘likely’ to be the new Spurs manager. He replaces Jose Mourinho.
It sees Spurs hire a second successive ex-Chelsea manager. Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici should follow Conte, with the transfer chief already confirmed as leaving Juve. He worked with Conte at the Old Lady and now both should sign on the dotted line with Tottenham.

Is Conte a good move for Tottenham, following Gold reports?
Yes, Conte is a sensational manager with an unrivalled winning mentality. His strict, tactical approach to matches will see Tottenham go from questioning themselves to back in the top-four race. It is a project that needs backing and time, but Conte is surely the right man going forward.
A move to re-hire Mauricio Pochettino boasted the romantic element. But Spurs have been there and done that and while the Argentine could return down the line, surely it needs a longer gap than 18 months. Conte is the right choice and Spurs fans should be utterly delighted.
