Tottenham now considering move for ‘towering’ international midfielder

Tottenham are looking to sign new players before the window closes and a new name is now emerging on their radar.

Spurs have added Archie Gray this summer and brought Timo Werner back on loan, while Lucas Bergvall is also a new signing and has been impressing in pre-season.

But Ange Postecoglou wants even more players signed and with Emerson Royal close to leaving for AC Milan, funds should be available.

Postecoglou wants to strengthen in all areas and after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg signed for Marseille, there is a spot going in the midfield area.

And now, according to reports from , Tottenham are keen on Ligue 1 midfielder, Amir Richardson.

Tottenham considering bid for Amir Richardson

According to the report from FM, Tottenham are keen on Richardson after his impressive campaign with Reims.

Richardson, 22, plays for Morocco at international level and is currently doing well over at the Olympics as he looks to bring a medal home.

Tottenham, of course, are keen on adding players to the squad who can not only help in the here and now but be developed to become big players for the club.

Richardson has already made over 100 career appearances and starred for Le Havre before sealing a move to Reims and impressing further.

There is no mention of the fee Tottenham could pay but given Richardson is at one of the lesser known French clubs, he shouldn’t break the bank.

Amir Richardson could play anywhere in Tottenham’s midfield

Richardson had the opportunity to play for the USA and France before opting to go with Morocco and that decision now looks justified.

Described as ‘‘ midfielder who has been for his “good technique, quality support, and liveliness’, Richardson is very much a Jack of all trades in the middle of the park.

Indeed, Richardson himself has even spoken of his ability to play in any position in the middle.

“I actually like to play all across the midfield,” Richardson

“I can play either as the No. 6 or the No. 8 and I love to play defence. I’ve been playing mostly as the No. 6, but sometimes the coach pushes me forward more into the attack where I can carry the ball.”

Tottenham, then, could well get another young gem if they do land the 22-year-old.
