Report: ‘Amazing’ Tottenham player still to kick a ball in pre-season despite being taken to South Korea

Tottenham are trying to make the most of their trip to South Korea and Antonio Conte is already putting his players through their paces.

Conte made some bold calls in his squad selection for the trip as he left out players such as Harry Winks and Sergio Reguilon. It was a statement from the Spurs boss to suggest he’s not afraid to make the big decisions as he looks to reshape his squad this summer.

Of course, all of Tottenham’s new signings made the trip, including Croatian winger Ivan Perisic. However, according to , Perisic is one of the only players currently on tour who has yet to even kick a ball in pre-season. It comes as Perisic looks to recover from an injury sustained in his last game for Inter Milan.

Naturally, some Spurs fans will be concerned to hear Perisic isn’t quite up to speed just yet. The season is around four weeks away and if Perisic isn’t even kicking a ball yet, he might struggle to be fit for the season opener.

Hopefully, for Tottenham fans and Conte anyway, Perisic can quickly get back into the swing and start to show his quality.

TBR’s View: Perisic Key For Tottenham This Season

Conte hasn’t signed a player beyond 30 for him to come and sit on the bench all season. Perisic will play a big role in this Spurs side and he’ll hope his recovery from injury is smooth.

The Croatian will fill a lot of positions for Conte but the idea of him roaming down the left will excite the Tottenham boss. With Ryan Sessegnon also part of the squad, the left side for Spurs looks well.

If Perisic can get back to fitness quickly and in time for August, then that only helps Tottenham from the outset.
