Tottenham must swoop as one-time Mourinho target Samuel Umtiti reportedly becomes available
It appears that French World Cup winner Samuel Umtiti could be on the way out of Barcelona when the transfer window reopens.
the Catalan side are ready to cut their losses on the Frenchman who has struggled with knee injuries during his time at the Nou Camp. the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are keen on the player, who could be available for as little as £26 million.
But Tottenham Hotspur must join that pursuit.
Jose Mourinho is known to be a big fan of the Frenchman.and Mourinho was ready to sanction a £53.4 million move for the Barca man and was willing to double his wages at Old Trafford. They were even said to be in constant discussions with his brother and agent Yannick.

However, Umtiti went on to star at the World Cup, helping France win the tournament and Barcelona quickly decided there was no chance the Frenchman would be sold.
Tottenham are week at the back. Jan Vertonghen’s future at the club remains in doubt whilst Eric Dier, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez have all struggled to make a mark this season.
In Umtiti, Tottenham would be getting a World Cup-winning calibre defender who Mourinho is known to be a fan of. If he is available for as little as the £26 million currently being suggested, he would also be a potential bargain in the current market amid the global health crisis.
