Tottenham must make changes, with Lo Celso key to finding missing creativity

Tottenham should start Lo Celso over Lucas on Saturday.

The Argentine, who cost Spurs £27m in January 2020 (), is a fantastic operator who can change games on his own.

The 25-year-old midfield man is a star for his country.

For Argentina, the impressive creative man is a sensation.

However, he’s yet to find that form for Tottenham and has long disappointed despite being given the chance to play his favoured role.

In place of Lo Celso on the right of their midfield three behind Harry Kane, Lucas Moura has been starting.

Unfortunately, though, Lucas has been nothing short of lacklustre.

The Brazilian wide-man is 18 Premier League goals without a game.

Those numbers just simply are not good enough.

Meanwhile, Lo Celso, whilst playing in the same role for his country, registered two assists in the recent international break.

His ability to interchange passes with the attackers around him for his country is impressive.

He just hasn’t done that for Spurs, yet.

If he could start to, though, his career in North London could really take off.

In a 4-2-3-1 system he’d have Tanguy Ndombele, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane to interlink with.

With that kind of quality, Spurs could really start to unlock teams.

Instead, they’ve got Lucas.

The Brazilian has been running into blind alleys and failing to make things happen.

He’s featured in eight Premier League games this season worth 628 minutes and is yet to score or assist.

Considering he plays on the right of a front three in a 4-3-3 or the attacking right role in a 4-2-3-1, this isn’t good enough.

Lo Celso could be used to try and turn the tide at Spurs.

In the second half vs West Ham Nuno’s side failed to register a single shot on target.

It’s clear as day to anyone watching that making chances is an issue for Spurs.

Giving Lo Celso the opportunity to turn this around is certainly worth a shot.

It’s certainly a better option than relying on Lucas to try and draw out chances.
