Tottenham must learn from past mistakes and ease Harry Kane back from injury
At the final whistle of Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Sunday, Harry Kane limped off the Wembley pitch in discomfort.
Kane had swollen his ankle so badly it was unable to be immediately scanned, the reported, with the striker most likely out for at least a month.
Although Spurs will undoubtedly be eager to welcome Kane back from his setback as soon as possible, the club must learn from its past mistakes and resist the urge to rush the over-worked striker back from injury.
Last season, Kane suffered a similar ankle injury back in an away match against Bournemouth in mid-March. The English international made a speedy recovery, but was decidedly not the same player in the closing months of the season.

Most notably, Kane’s underwhelming performance in the FA Cup semi-final against United drew criticism, as it was clear Kane was not playing at his highest level — potentially due to his ankle issues.
In the coming months, Tottenham have a busy schedule, featuring Champions League knockout stages, a League Cup semi-final, and critical Premier League clashes in their push for a title challenge.
But despite all the high-profile encounters, Tottenham must ease their Harry Kane back to full fitness, in order to ensure their star asset is at his best during the latter stages of the campaign.
