Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp no closer to making injury return
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp has yet to return to first-team training and is no closer to recovering from the injury that has ruled him out since January.
reports that the England Under-21 international’s hopes of returning against Newcastle United on Sunday are ‘all but over’.
Before this month’s international break Antonio Conte had that Skipp would be able to return to face Eddie Howe’s side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

But the 21-year-old is instead working individually and resting following a long-term groin injury.
Will Oliver Skipp play again this season?

Skipp hasn’t played since coming on as a second half substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on 23 January.
But his return to fitness has been complicated by an infection, caused by an injection.
The report by the Evening Standard states that Skipp’s situation is considered the result of playing so much football over the past 18 months.
Tottenham’s number 29 played 47 games during his season-long loan at Norwich City and started this season in the heart of Spurs’ midfield under the stewardship of Nuno Espirito Santo, and has continued to flourish under the tutelage of Conte.

No timeframe has been put on Skipp’s return to training, having been advised by a specialist to rest.
Across all competitions this season, Skipp has made 28 appearances for the north London side.
But with Conte’s side chasing Champions League qualification, it looks like Skipp, , will be taking the watching brief for the foreseeable future.
Skipp’s absence has seen January deadline day signing Rodrigo Bentancur come into the side and partner Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg in midfield.
