Tottenham may have made two genius transfer moves that have barely even been noticed yet

Tottenham have negotiated some fantastic deals since Ange Postecoglou arrived in N17 back in June.

The likes of Micky van de Ven, Brennan Johnson and Guglielmo Vicario have all been huge hits at Spurs, while the January additions of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin were also smart pieces of business.

However – in Ashley Phillips and Luka VuskovicTottenham made two clever signings that are flying well under the radar…

Tottenham made two genius moves in signing Ashley Phillips and Luka Vuskovic

Well, Postecoglou may even have the new Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld right under his nose at Tottenham with these two precocious talents.

Phillips was signed in a deal from Blackburn back in August after Spurs caught wind of his release clause.

The 18-year-old has since been loaned out to Plymouth, where he is making a significant impact.

Phillips – who has drawn to Virgil van Dijk thanks to his physically dominant frame and clean technical skills – has already impressed sections of the media with his displays while out on loan, and there is even talk of Postecoglou bringing him into the fold at Tottenham this summer.

Dejan Kulusevski has also said he feels the teenager is ready to play for Spurs.

In regards to Vuskovic, Tottenham actually managed to fend off Manchester City to sign the Croatian wonderkid, who big things are expected of.

Michael Bridge of Sky Sports claims a football youth expert told him that the 16-year-old may actually be ready to play for Spurs immediately when he officially arrives from Hajduk Split in 2025.

Tottenham even paid to sign Vuskovic – which emphasises just how much faith the north Londoners have in his vast potential.

Tottenham have made great strides

Tottenham deserve huge credit for how quickly they have transformed the squad – mainly the backline.

The final game of last season saw Davinson Sanchez and Clement Lenglet start in the centre of defence ahead of Fraser Forster, with Japhet Tanganga on the bench in reserve.

Now, Spurs can boast a centre-back pairing of Van de Ven and Cristian Romero, flanked by the electric Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro with Vicario in between the sticks.

It has been a remarkable transformation, and the future looks just as bright as the present with Phillips and Vuskovic developing in the shadows.
