Tottenham make £13m bid to sign ‘very special’ Barcelona midfielder – journalist
Tottenham Hotspur restarted their Premier League campaign in similar fashion to how the first half of the season ended.
Antonio Conte’s side only started playing after an hour, and came from two goals behind to earn a point at Brentford.
There are a number of positions that Spurs fans may be hoping the club look to upgrade soon.
Another attacker looks necessary with Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura’s futures at the club in doubt.
There’s also the dilemma of who will play at right wing-back, with Sporting’s Pedro Porro heavily linked with the club.
However, Tottenham are eyeing a move for a midfielder from Camp Nou.

Described as a ‘very special’ player, the midfielder would offer an alternative to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur in the centre of the park.

Kessie left Italian champions AC Milan in the summer, with Barcelona adding him to their ranks on a free transfer.
The Catalan club’s financial problems are well documented, and an opportunity to quickly make a profit on Kessie may be tempting.
Kessie has made just seven league appearances for Barcelona, and is unlikely to ever be first choice there.
He’s spent the majority of his career in Italy, meaning Conte and Fabio Paratici will be very aware of his abilities.
Now that Tottenham have made a bid for Kessie, it could spell bad news for the likes of Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma.
Conte already has plenty of options in midfield, but seems to lack trust in several of those players.
Both Skipp and Bissouma have plenty of potential, and Kessie’s arrival could limit their development.
It doesn’t look like a position where bringing in a new player should be a priority in January.
However, Conte’s decisions in the transfer market have been brilliant since arriving in north London, so it’s difficult to question their pursuit of the 26-year-old.
