Tottenham linked with £60k-a-week PL star that Alan Shearer called ‘absolutely fantasticlast season

Alan Shearer previously gave a rave review of Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Daniel Podence, who is now reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham.

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, as relayed by The Boot Room, has reported that Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo could plot a potential raid for Podence.

Nuno may reportedly turn towards his ex-club Wolves by eyeing their 25-year-old. In addition, he could also eye his teammate Willy Boly.

Podence, 25, has now been with Premier League club Wolves for 18 months.

The winger had injury issues during the 2020/21 campaign. However, he ended up with three goals and two assists in 25 appearances across all competitions.

Alan Shearer praise an indication of Daniel Podence at his best

Well-Respected pundit Shearer was waxing lyrical about Podence after a display on 30 October in 2020.

The Portuguese forward scored in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, so received major praise. He’s a nightmare for full-backs when he’s running at full speed with his low centre of gravity and ability with both feet.

“This guy here, Podence, was absolutely fantastic. He gave them a torrid evening: trickery, full of commitment, passion, willing to get forward,Shearer during last season’s Premier League.

Podence has shown when he’s on his A-game what a threat he can be.

Spurs fans would have loved his goalscoring performance in a 2-1 Wolves win over Arsenal last November.

However, he’s been inconsistent at Molineux so far.

It remains to be seen how serious Spursinterest in Podence may be. But, he would need to step his game up massively if he ended up moving to north London.
