Tottenham-linked Axel Disasi eyed as a replacement for Harry Maguire at Manchester United
Dean Jones has claimed that reported Tottenham Hotspur target Axel Disasi is now on Manchester United’s radar as Erik Ten Hag looks to replace Harry Maguire.
Antonio Conte has wanted to improve his defence for a while now. Cristian Romero is absolutely fantastic, but there’s room for Spurs to find upgrades on every other defender they have at the club.
Monaco’s Disasi was being looked at last month, but Manchester United are reportedly keen to sign him now.

Tottenham-linked Axel Disasi eyed as a replacement for Harry Maguire at Manchester United
Disasi was a part of Didier Deschamps’ France squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 24-year-old, branded as a ‘powerful’ player, made three appearances for Les Bleus, and Jones revealed about a week before the final that Tottenham had been scouting him throughout the competition.
Manchester United joined Spurs and West Ham in the race for Disasi last week, with reporting that the Red Devils have even held initial discussions about a potential move.
Now, Jones has suggested that Disasi is being viewed as Manchester United’s target to replace Maguire and possibly even Victor Lindelof this year.
The journalist told : “I think if we already know that Maguire and Lindelof may not have a long-term future at United.
“So with that in mind, someone like this Disasi might be more in line with the long-term vision at Man United. And that’s probably why that one is starting to crop up.”

TBR View: Spurs should consider signing Maguire
If Manchester United end up beating Tottenham to Disasi’s signature, Spurs should really consider signing Maguire, who looks like he’s surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old, who is the club captain, has started just four times in the Premier League this season. Ten Hag has even preferred Luke Shaw over him at left centre-half, which should tell you all you’ve to know.
Bar Romero, Maguire is better than every central defender Tottenham have got – Jamie O’Hara and Dean Saunders have both said the same in recent weeks.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out, but if Spurs miss out on Disasi and all their other centre-back targets, Maguire really would be a decent shout.
