As Tottenham sweat on fitness of Kyle Walker-Peters, England start could see Kieran Trippier enjoy perfect first month at Atletico Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur were busy trying to bolster their squad during the summer having failed to sign a player for two consecutive transfer windows.

Mauricio Pochettino’s did add three players to꧅ his ranks. Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso were all signed by Tottenham.

To accommodate the new arrivals some pl🐻ayers were forced to depart the club.

One of those was Kieran Trippier. The right-back swapped North London for Madrid, signing forꦡ Atletico in a deal worth £20 million

It was perhaps a bizarre move, considering that last season Trippier suffered🎶 an al🐠arming slide in form.

Having set England on their way to a World Cup final with a stunning free-kick against Croatia in the World Cup semi-final, it was anticipated he would kic🐠k-on.

The Three Lions would eventually l☂ose to their opponents and miss out on a final berth, with Trippier suffering from an inability to scale such heights back at Tottenham.

Trippier appears to be over last season an🦹d relishing the chance of a new start at a big club, however.

Grass is greener

The Atletico supporters ha𝓰ve taken to the defender and his form in the club’s 100% start to the campaign has earned h𓆉im a recall to Gareth Southgate’s plans.

He has played 90⭕ minutes in all three La Liga games for Diego Simeone’s side so far. He has helped the team to two clean sheets and registered one assist༒.

Yesterday Aaron Wan-Bissaka pulled out of the England squad leaving⛄ Trﷺippier to compete with Trent Alexander-Arnold for a starting berth this weekend.

Despite having only left Tottenham for just over a month, Trippier is well on his way to proving the Premier League club 🅺wrong to offload him.

Spurs don’t currently have a fit right-back. Kyle Walker-Peters should be back after the intern𝕴ational break but at this stage that is uncer✅tain.

At 28 Trippier has plenty of time left ahead of him and an ඣEngland recall this weekend would give him the perfect start to life after Tottenham.
