Tottenham injury news: Alasdair Gold shares update on Richarlison, Kulusevski, Bentancur and Bissouma

Alasdair Gold has shared some injury news on four Tottenham Hotspur players ahead of the game against Arsenal on Sunday – Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma.

The North London Derby this weekend is a massive one for both clubs. Spurs need to win to be in touching distance of fourth-placed Manchester United, while a victory would give Arsenal a huge boost in the title race.

Antonio Conte has been without a number of his key players, and he could have a few of them back for the big game this Sunday.

Tottenham injury news: Alasdair Gold shares update on Richarlison, Kulusevski, Bentancur and Bissouma

When Tottenham have everybody available, they can be a real force in the Premier League.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min remain their best players, but when Richarlison and Kulusevski are also available in attack, they are an extremely difficult side to stop.

A secret weapon of sorts this season has been Bentancur, who has chipped in with a few hugely important goals. His backup, Bissouma, hasn’t had the greatest of campaigns, but he’s an extremely important player when the Uruguayan isn’t fit.

All four players – Bissouma, Kulusevski, Richarlison and Bentancur – have had their issues with injuries recently, and Gold has provided an update on all of them ahead of the derby this weekend.

The journalist said on his : “After the squad’s two days off, Kulusevski was outdoors working individually today at Hotspur Way so hopefully that shows he’s on the road back for Sunday.

“Bentancur, there is some hope that he could also make it back in time although perhaps at this stage a bench role would be more likely if he does make it.

“Bissouma was back with the group after his ankle injury and Richarlison, if he makes it into the matchday squad would be ahead of schedule, and you can never rule out an appearance on the bench if his hamstring is deemed to have healed enough.

“Conte did declare that he hoped to have them all back for this match after the win at Palace.”

TBR View:

Arsenal will go into the derby on Sunday as the favourites because of how good they’ve been this season, but if Tottenham have Richarlison, Bentancur, Kulusevski and Bissouma all available, they will fancy themselves to get something out of the game.

Kulusevski is arguably Spurs’ most creative player, and when he’s on the pitch, he almost always creates a good number of chances for his attackers. Richarlison, on the other hand, is a nightmare to deal with – just ask Gabriel Magalhaes, who fouled him in the box and conceded a penalty in the reverse fixture.

Bentancur is probably Tottenham’s best midfielder. His partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been fantastic, and his ability in attack has bailed Spurs out on a couple of occasions already this season.

If the Uruguayan does not make it, Bissouma will be called upon. Gold has revealed that the Mali international, who was branded as an ‘unbelievable signing’ by Paul Merson, is ‘back’ with the group now, and that is excellent news for Spurs fans ahead of the derby this weekend.
