Tottenham Hotspur transfer option Samuel Umtiti would seemingly please Jose Mourinho
Tottenham Hotspur could not be in the running for French World Cup-winning defender Samuel Umtiti, according to reports.
that Barcelona are keen on Tottenham’s record signing Tanguy Ndombele, who has struggled for his best form since arriving in North London.
It’s reported that Barcelona would not be able to afford a transfer fee for the Frenchman, so are instead willing to offer Umtiti and right-back Nelson Semedo to Tottenham to make a deal go through.
Mourinho would surely jump at the chance to sign Umtiti. Tottenham need to strengthen their centre-back options, especially with Jan Vertonghen seemingly heading to the exit door.

, Mourinho was ready to sanction a £53 million move for the Barca man and was willing to double his wages at Old Trafford.
In fact that same summer that Mourinho had ‘called Umtiti personally’ to offer him a potential move to Manchester United.
Now, it seems Mourinho is being handed the chance to have Umtiti on a plate if he is willing to sacrifice a midfielder who has had a tumultuous period under his management at Spurs.
It is hard to see how Mourinho would turn down such an opportunity.
