‘Just like wow’: Steven Gerrard completely blown away by one Tottenham player’s technique

Steven Gerrard has waxed lyrical about Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane on Overlap Xtra.

The Aston Villa boss and Liverpool legend was speaking to Gary Neville on the episode, up on .

Neville asked Gerrard who he’d pick to take a last-minute penalty.

Without hesitation, the Villa manager said “I think I can answer it before you finish it (the question).

Neville urged Gerrard to go on and he replied: “Harry Kane.

“Just like wow, the technique and the pace and speed and accuracy.

“He’s putting it exactly where he wants. I think he’s mastered it, fair play to him.”

Kane’s penalty record is outstanding – as per , he has scored 50 and missed just eight.

Kane’s last missed penalty was for England during the Euro 2020 semi-final against Denmark.

After a slow start to the season, Kane is now back to his best, with 22 goals and nine assists for Tottenham this term.

His efforts have helped Spurs climb back into the top four and Champions League qualification is now a real possibility.
