Tottenham Hotspur lose £13 million on Vincent Janssen transfer
Vincent Janssen’s time at Tottenham Hotspur has finally come to an end. The club last night that the Dutchman had completed a shock move to Mexican outfit Monterrey.
It brings to an end a torrid time at Tottenham for the player, who arrived with plenty of promise that he failed to live up to.
Mauricio Pochettino had personally scouted the Dutchman in the summer of 2016 before sanctioning an £18.6 million move for the player.
It came after he had scored 32 goals in 49 games in the previous season with AZ Alkmaar.

But Tottenham have now lost Janssen to Mexico at a huge financial loss.
Monterrey have paid just $7 million (£5.6m) for the player this summer. That means Tottenham have lost £13 million on the transfer fees for the Dutchman. If wages were also included for the time Janssen spent injured last season, then he has been a costly error from Tottenham Hotspur.
Hopefully, the talented attacker can rekindle his goalscoring spark in the Liga MX. But he will, unfortunately, have to go down as a big flop for Tottenham Hotspur.
