Werner did not have the best of times at Chelsea. While the forward worked hard and was a problem for the opposition defenders with his pace, he simply could not score enough goals.

The 27-year-old Germany international forward scored 10 goals and gave nine assists in 56 appearances in the Premier League during his time at the Blues.

What Kai Havertz once said about Timo Werner

However, Havertz outlined what Werner brought to the team and spoke highly of him.

In August 2021, Havertz told about Werner: “He changed his style of play and made more assists than goals, but he has every ability.

“In the Champions League final, for example, he did the run to the left which opened the space for me (to run through and score). He can do everything, and that’s a reason why he’s so unpredictable.”

Werner and Havertz won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2020-21. The latter has not had the best of times at Arsenal so far, and Spurs fans will hope that the former fares better.

Tottenham are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
