Tottenham Hotspur fans react to Serge Aurier’s performance v West Ham
Tottenham Hotspur defeated West Ham United 2-0 in the Premier League yesterday evening. A Tomas Soucek own goal and a Harry Kane finish secured all three points for Jose Mourinho’s side as they continue to fight for a Champions League spot.
For Tottenham fans, it was a game of positives, with Giovani Lo Celso the overwhelming one. The Argentine was sensational throughout, whilst Ben Davies, Eric Dier, and Moussa Sissoko also shone.
But one player, who gets his fair share of stick from the Tottenham fanbase, who had a good day at the office was Serge Aurier.
The Ivorian full-back has been criticised on numerous occasions for, admittedly, some dreadful defensive displays.

However, against West Ham, the attacking right-back might have one of his best ever games in a Tottenham shirt, according to some fans.
With Ben Davies supplying defensive support on the left, Aurier was given the freedom to bomb down the right and have West Ham constantly on the back-foot.
He also delivered some dangerous crosses into the area which, once Harry Kane is back to his full fitness, the Englishman would undoubtedly be on the end of.
Aurier has received plenty of, arguably deserved, stick this season so to see him playing so well had plenty of Tottenham fans taking to Twitter, pleasantly surprised.
This probably won’t go well with crap minded agenda holding people but, Aurier has been absolutely great last 2 games

He’s become too much of a meme where people are blind to his great games

Kane still a bit off but he’s coming back??.
Alli wasn’t good 1-2 good passes that’s about it.
Lo Celso work rate was amazing?.
Sissoko is just the ?.
Aurier probably had his best game in a spurs shirt today, but still made a few mistakes??.
Sanchez & Dier was Solid?.

I thought it was Aurier’s best game in a THFC kit.

There’s something about Serge Aurier and his low-driven crosses into the box that I enjoy watching. ?
Overall, Aurier deserves credit. Solid throughout. ?

Aurier man of the match for me. Superb energy and a constant nuisance. CLEAN SHEET
— Onurr (@onuronny)
Aurier has been class man, consistently bagging good crosses

Aurier has been great tonight ???

Agree, Aurier was excellent I thought! Got in some great positions. If he could be more consistent with his final ball, he’d easily hit double digit assists.

I love how Jose has basically just decided Aurier is a rotten defender so I’ll just throw him up the pitch as a winger and get Davies to stay further back. He was excellent tonight Aurier.

Serge Aurier isn’t an elite defender, but he can destroy teams going forward. Been excellent today.
Teams that want to play 3 in defence should be in talks with Spurs
— Aaron Moniz (@aaronmfootball)
Don’t tell anyone, but Aurier’s been excellent tonight.
